PIANIST LAUREL ENGELHARDT
LAUREL ENGELHARDT grew up living in a musical family in Houston, TX. Laurel exhibited immense musical curiosity at a very young age, but she was advised to not begin piano lessons until the age of ten. With only five years of piano study, Laurel caught the attention of Steinway Artist Dr. Bradley Bolen. Laurel decided to follow in her grandmother’s (pianist and Baylor alumni) footsteps, earning her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance at Baylor School of Music in 2025 with full scholarships under the tutelage of Dr. Bradley Bolen.
Laurel performs in numerous cities and music festivals across the United States. Notable performances includes Lecture-recital on Claude Debussy’s solo piano music, given at Adam’s Music House in Austin, TX (Adam’s Music House 2023 Debussy Fellowship) and winning an honorable mention at the 2020 Gloria Artis International Competition in Vienna, Austria among others. Laurel is a featured artist in various events premiering new works and collaborating with composers including BMC Etudes Project at Brevard Music Festival and Rediscovered Gems: Premieres of Newly Published Works by Florence Price (by Alfred Publishing), a lecture-recital with Baylor University Chapter of MTNA (that Laurel served as president of from 2022-2025).
Focused on community outreach, Laurel performs at retirement homes, libraries, churches, corporate events, cocktail hours, weddings, private events, and more. She is also a classically trained vocalist. She is an avid reader of classic/fantasy literature and enjoys running in her free time.
